Good to see you earlier.

Just arrived back and I have to say the engine is now fantastic, tickover steady at a bit under 900 regardless of temperature, oil pressure good.
Engine sounds great, pulls beautifully and starts immediately even when hot.
Also the new heater set up works perfectly and doesn't pull down the engine when on. Also the back bumper whilst hot is not as hot as it was previously. Am very happy, please pass on my thanks to Dirko.

En Volkstuning seguimos avanzando con nuestro proceso de traslado y mejora de instalaciones. 🚐 Noticias del Taller – ITV, Servicio y un Nuevo Capítulo 🚐
Hoy hemos entregado de nuevo esta preciosa VW Bay Window de 1974. Llevamos 15 años cuidando de ella, así que la conocemos al detalle: desde el sonido de su motor hasta el último tornillo.
Esta vez venía para su ITV, dentro de nuestro servicio totalmente gestionado: nosotros reservamos la cita, llevamos el vehículo y resolvemos cualquier detalle allí mismo. Pasó la inspección sin problemas, con solo una observación: un faro ligeramente desajustado. Nada que un destornillador Phillips y un par de minutos no pudieran arreglar.
Después, realizamos su servicio anual, que siempre intentamos coordinar con la ITV para que todo quede listo de una vez. Con eso hecho, está preparada para muchos kilómetros más.
💔 Sin embargo, con la familia de su propietario creciendo, ha llegado el momento de buscarle un nuevo/a cuidador/a que siga escribiendo su historia.

🚐 Workshop Update – ITV, Service & a New Chapter 🚐
Today we waved goodbye (for now!) to this gorgeous 1974 Bay Window van. She’s been part of our workshop family for 15 years, so we know every bolt, bracket, and quirk by heart.
This visit was for her ITV under our fully managed service — we handle the booking, take her to the test, and deal with any little issues on the spot. She passed with flying colours, with just one advisory: a slightly wonky headlight. A quick tweak with a Phillips screwdriver, and she was perfect again.
We also carried out her annual service (we like to line it up with the test), meaning she’s now fully ready for many more miles of smiles.
💔 But here’s the bittersweet bit: her current owner’s growing family means it’s time for her to find a new home. If you think you could be her next custodian, send us a message — she’s ready for her next adventure.

Hoy empezamos el día temprano en Volkstuning, saliendo rumbo a Málaga para nuestra cita en la ITV a las 8:30 de la mañana.
El trayecto por la costa fue espectacular — muy parecido a la Pacific Coast Highway, con vistas al mar realmente impresionantes.
La ITV fue un éxito, y esperamos tener la matrícula española en los próximos días.

What’s Happening @ Volkstuning today?
Importation and Spanish matriculation 1964 Type 2 13 window Deluxe.
It was an early start for us today at Volkstuning, as we headed off to Málaga bright and early for an 8:30 AM ITV appointment.
The drive along the coast was absolutely spectacular — not too different from the Pacific Coast Highway, with stunning sea views all the way.
The test was a success, and we expect to have the Spanish plates issued very soon.
This beautiful and rare 1964 13-window Deluxe will soon be available for sale.

¿Qué está pasando hoy en el taller?
Revision Completo de Frenos Traseros – Beetle 1302 de 1971
Este Beetle llegó al taller tras no superar la ITV debido a un fallo en los frenos traseros. El cliente comentó que este problema llevaba tiempo ocurriendo.
Al desmontar los tambores, descubrimos cilindros de freno traseros con fugas, y además notamos que los componentes del sistema de frenos no estaban correctamente montados — una preocupación seria en términos de seguridad.
Lamentablemente, esto es algo que vemos con bastante frecuencia. Por eso recomendamos siempre acudir a un especialista siempre que sea posible. No solo porque es más probable que tengamos todas las piezas correctas en stock, sino también porque contamos con la experiencia necesaria para detectar y corregir este tipo de problemas que en otros lugares pueden pasar desapercibidos.

What’s Happening in the Workshop Today?
Complete Rear Brake Service – 1971 1302 Beetle
This Beetle came in after failing its ITV due to poor rear braking. The customer mentioned that the issue had been ongoing for some time.
Upon removing the drums, we discovered leaking rear wheel cylinders and also noted that the brake components had not been assembled correctly — a serious safety concern.
Unfortunately, this is something we come across quite often. It’s one of the key reasons we always recommend using a specialist when possible. Not only are we likely to have all the correct parts in stock, but we also have the experience to spot and correct issues like this that may go unnoticed elsewhere.
