New rules are coming for electric scooter users in Spain – and they will affect many of our clients and their families.

From October 2026, the DGT will introduce nationwide regulations for personal mobility vehicles, including minimum age limits, mandatory helmets and reflective vests, and stricter safety requirements. On top of this, civil liability insurance and online registration will become essential for most electric scooters.
