Tell me I’m not the only one??! 👩🏼‍🌾🫣😂😂😂🫠

This year we decided we were going to make much more of an effort to grow our own vegetables.

We got raised beds. We got organic compost. We planted companion plants. And we planted about 10 TIMES TOO MANY SEEDS 😂. Thank Christ I only planted one courgette plant.

Regardless, I’m genuinely thrilled to see so much bounty. And you’ll be pleased to know I did some thinning out after I shot this footage. But potentially not enough. 👀

I yap on about eating organic, and I know it can feel like it’s hard to find good food that is affordable. So I really do believe that we all need to start growing more of our own produce. And my gosh it feels satisfying to pick and eat your own bounty. My nervous system loves the fact that I’m reminding myself what it is to be a self-sufficient human!

Your health is dictated by what’s going on in your head. And on how your own programmes and patterns drive choices and behaviour.

Here’s just one example of a tendency of mine to put too much pressure on myself and slip into thinking I need to have “something to show for myself” to have value in this world. Your subconscious programmes could be completely different - they are still likely driving some unhealthy habits and behaviours, EVEN if you are aware of them.

So many women come into my clinic with perfectionist mindsets, or contempt for themselves for some reason or another. This ultimately leads to living a life with some form of subtle punishment woven in - like diet restrictions, over-training, over-working, negative self-talk, control freak behaviour, the inability to be creative or truly rest, and so on.

Awareness is only the first step. It doesn’t change things. The real work comes from a lot of time working on the programming through breaking patterns, affirmation, maybe even more potent techniques like hypnosis for some people. And sometimes things slip, and you need a reminder. That’s okay - we’re all human.

Having someone in your corner to call you out when you’re slipping back is key.

This is one of the areas in which psychological, spiritual and mental themes merge into “physical” wellbeing. We cannot separate these things out. Everything is deeply connected. I believe that the real healing can’t happen until we start digging in to our own codes and stories, and work on rewriting them.
