Close up on Can Picafort Palace’s monolithic buffet island defines the space through clean volumes, integrated display niches, and concealed technical equipment.
The suspended extraction hood becomes the visual focal point, enhanced by copper pendant heat lamps that combine functionality with a refined material contrast.
A textured ceramic wall finish adds depth to the composition, while the neutral palette and continuous flooring reinforce the project’s minimalist architectural language.

Three alternative design proposals were developed to explore different approaches to space distribution. Both schemes prioritize improved functionality, increased storage capacity, and a clearer hierarchy between private and shared spaces while maintaining the existing structural framework.
Option A1 focuses on maximizing openness and flexibility through a central living area that connects the kitchen, dining, and lounge functions. This solution enhances natural light pe*******on and creates a more fluid relationship between everyday activities.
Option A2 introduces a more defined spatial organization, with the living and dining areas arranged around a larger open-plan kitchen. The layout strengthens the social core of the apartment while providing a clearer separation between communal and private zones.
Option A3 proposes a hybrid solution, combining the openness of the first scheme with the spatial efficiency of the second. The design introduces a central multifunctional living space connected to the kitchen through a semi-open layout, improving circulation while maintaining visual continuity. Custom joinery elements are used to integrate storage, reduce spatial fragmentation, and optimize the overall usability of the apartment.
The result is a balanced configuration that maximizes both functionality and spatial quality within the existing footprint.
