Samsung Display, Samsung division that handles display manufacturing, has announced to launch a folding screen "smartphones" in 2015. This technology would allow the bend in half without compromising the image.

"We will ensure production capacity of 30,000 to 40,000 [flexible displays each month] at the end of next year," said Lee Chang-hoon , vice president of business strategy team for Samsung Investor Forum 2014 in New York. "We intend to offer consumers a product with a flexible screen at the end of that year. However, nothing has been decided on the final product , "Lee said.

The Korean company showed at CES 2013 in a promotional video displaying their advances in flexible displays. According to notes from ZDnet, Samsung plans to expand its line of smartphones with curves and fliexibles screens, that after the "warm" reception has gotten Edge Galaxy Note , a "phablet" with a curved edge screen. Lee also said the company intends to reduce production costs AMOLED, which is currently more expensive than LCD, to attract more customers.
