🌊 UNESCO has declared 2021–2030 the Ocean Decade, highlighting the urgent need to protect and sustainably use our oceans.

With vast Pacific coastlines, Chile, and dual access to the Pacific and Caribbean, Colombia, are both deeply engaged in advancing the Blue Economy, which can be defined as the set of economic activities that depend on the ocean, the seas, and the coasts and the sustainable management of their resources.

As this sector grows, so does the demand for skilled professionals in sustainability, marine conservation, and ocean resource management, and so does the need for training in such sectors—making vocational training essential to prepare the workforce of tomorrow.
In this context, Blue Economy Labs promotes cooperation and collaboration between Europe and Latin America, connecting vocational training institutions in Colombia, Chile, Spain, and Germany. It helps prepare the next generation of ocean professionals by linking vocational schools, training centers, and industry to build skills for a blue future 💙

📘 BET Project – First Newsletter Out Now!

The BET Project (Alliance for Skills, Sustainability, and Innovation in Emerging Tourism Types) is an Erasmus+ initiative that aims to accelerate the transformation of Europe's tourism sector.

What we do – We equip tourism professionals, entrepreneurs, students, and educators with the knowledge and tools to embrace emerging, sustainable, and tech-driven tourism models. These include Scientific Tourism, Roots Tourism, Offbeat Destinations, Metaverse Tourism, and Digital Nomadism.

Our objectives:
✔ Foster knowledge and skills in emerging tourism types
✔ Drive innovation in tourism education
✔ Accelerate the twin transition (green and digital)
✔ Strengthen cross-sectoral collaboration
✔ Support entrepreneurship and community resilience

Who is involved – A consortium of 14 partners from Greece, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, and Slovenia.

Over the course of the project, tourism professionals, students, and entrepreneurs will be trained, while VET and HE educators will be upskilled through blended learning seminars.
