Olas Gallery is excited to present our big in-house summer show – Olas de verano.

In summer we like to gather our friends and we’re having a ridiculous amount of artists to completely fill our tiny gallery’s walls. For all summer long, from July through September.

Expect works in a variety of media, by many different hands, but as always... made in Ibiza.

We’re channelling the bold, colourful, warm and relaxing, and everything else summer in Ibiza might be, and for a few glorious months, our gallery becomes a community playground, a pool of creativity, as we ride the big wave with all of these OLAS.

A collaborative exhibition and exploratory conversation by Sofia Gomez Fonzo and Rachel Weschke in photography and clay.

Using the landscape and coastline of Ibiza, the yellow sun of ochre, the white salt of the moon, black velvet nights that breathe, the nostalgia of analogue that provides a feeling of sun kissed assurance and memories.

“Iʼve been around them, in one way or another, since I can remember. Riding, feeding, mucking out, walking, drawing, frequently dreaming of them. I cannot imagine a reality without horses.”

Elizabeth Rose Langford sources her materials from the earth: she uses ancient techniques to make her own pigments which she then transforms into paintings. The work - by its very nature - is dynamic and alive, celebrating the essence of these colours through the gestures of horses.

Olas Gallery presents HORSES by Elizabeth Rose Langford, a new body of work made with pigments from Ibiza, set in a private location that honours the history and traditional architecture of Dalt Vila.

Time in Ibiza is a multilayered presence.

Olas Gallery presents ‘Textures of Time’, a collaborative exhibition and exploratory conversation in photography and clay, by Sofia Gomez Fonzo ( / ) and Rachel Weschke ()

In allowing life to unfold, we also make space for the unforeseen: for tension, for rupture, for the quiet emergence of the unexpected. These so-called accidents are not interruptions, Sofia and Rachel work from within this threshold, inviting contingency into their practice and allowing the work to be shaped by elemental encounters.
