Cosmic Gecko walks

First Friday night out in Santiago after the restrictions are lifted...a cold, wet and quiet night with not may people out and about. A few braved the weather to see the fireworks to celebrate the turning on of the Xmas lights and I was the first customer at my favourite bar Conga 7. First (and second) cider in 5 months!

Hello to all of you out there....At a time when we would be starting to see an influx of visitors and pilgrims to our amazing city we have instead just passed one month of isolation lockdown here in Spain and the pandemic here seems to be easing up some what. Our infection and death rates appear to be slowing down and hopefully we are as they say finally 'flattening the curve'. Currently our quarantine has been extended until 26th April (with a likely further extension until mid May) and the possibility of things getting back to some semblance of normal is still a long way off. Although this Monday the ban on non essential workers was lifted, we will have to wait to see what effect if any that has on our curve before we can expect any other relaxation on restrictions.In the meantime all service industries are shut and we are only allowed to leave the house to go to the supermarket or pharmacy nearest to our homes. In the weeks to come we will keep you updated on developments here until we can once again welcome visitors to the steps of our famous Cathedral here in Santiago De Compostela.
