I have been hosting sessions with the awesome Sahir House, for the Many Hands One Heart Group since September 2023, including: somatics, breathwork and meditation. In these classes we use healing tools to create a conversation with our nervous systems, to find ways to be more self-resourced in the world. We can’t ever fully heal from living in a capitalist system. More than meditation, affirmations and yoga, you need safety and freedom to be well. My work is trauma informed and focused on creating safe containers for our mind, body and soul. I hope to improve mental health and for others to feel a sense of embodiment and belonging.

I offer my gratitude that I, a white, disabled, q***r, neurodivergent body in the west, get to benefit from the ancient Indian teachings of Yoga and help others heal with this practice. It's time we use yoga as a tool for liberation, for bringing people together in community and using yoga as a means of healing for all. Where yoga isn't accessible for certain communities, we need to make those spaces accessible. Before I transitioned, I was lucky enough to have found yoga as a healing tool for my mental health. However since coming out as q***r, I have personally experienced how holistic spaces in general aren't fully accessible for the LGBTQ+ community. This post explains why. This post was a long time in the making and partially inspired by post on why q***r yoga is important! They are an incredible q***r yogi go and follow them and show them support!!!

Let me come to you
through the mists
through the fire
through the plants
through the deep flowing wells
with ideas
visions
word
music beyond the tips of your ears
Let me move you
Enliven you
Stimulate you
till your perspective shifts

Everyone in nature has a part to play. There is no hierarchy, we are all important, we all matter. Some of us were born to shine like the sun, not in a way that makes you more special, but in a way that shines light to sustain life, to inspire, to uplift, to plant seeds of hope into the hearts of all. Our hearts beat for the same purpose of love and connection. Which is why, when in society there are voices that aren’t heard in the dark, we must shine a light on them. Give those voices space to grow and flourish. When we all grow in ways that are unique to us, meeting our specific needs and conditions, we create an ecosystem. To meet community needs is the gardening of the ecosystem. We all feed one another whilst still staying true to our own unique roots.

To get to love one another is a gift, for as the sun sets each day so will the stage that is your life, end.

Burn away what no longer serves.

Shine because it is your soul. Shine because you have no choice but to shine. Shine, fearing not if eyes cannot meet your rays. Your light is not to be looked at for validation. You have so much light and sometimes you don’t know what to do with it. Of course, I am made of light so I must be looked at? I must use all of these rays, there’s so many of them and they have to go somewhere? This will happen inevitably, but the true lesson is how to beam light from your heart, so the light may reach the spaces that need it most. Light has its place, use it tenderly and be careful not to burn yourself out.

To shine is to experience joy, pure joy and pure bliss!!!! Your light is pure potentiality
