The conversations we had with the public nurtured the narrative that the dogs in the park own the place. The notion of these pooches being indulged by their secondary people inspired us to turn these canine figurines into status symbols, making them the silent Queens of this park. Painting the resident dogs as porcelain figurines allowed us to play with scale and character— a street chihuahua named Gucci, a local celeb, became the biggest dog on the stage, mirroring his reputation.

We drew inspiration from the endearing quirks of the park and its users. Several locals joined us to paint, bringing along tea and biscuits—very fitting for creating an artwork reminiscent of a kitsch porcelain teapot!

Pomp & Privvy' was the 2nd in a series of 3 murals commissioned by Enfield council in response to an initiative to refurbish and re open public toilet blocks in the borough. Embraced by the warm hospitality of Jubilee Park's tight-knit community, we held a series of workshops specially looking at patterns and symbols which represented the park.
