Via Vignettes

A local merchant at the outdoor Sunday market outside of Mercat Central looks desperately for something to read on his phone, while in front of him sit stacks of books.

Captured during a recent morning walk in the El Carmen neighborhood here in Valencia. Often one will find wet streets like this even though there has been no rain. The reason for this is the street cleaners will come through, spraying their mixture of cleaning chemicals onto the tiles and bricks making up the pathways through the city leaving behind a reflective surface on which everyone walks, drives, and rides.
