Kalkidan’s journey has led her to embrace the role of a storyteller, with or without words by using any medium that best captures the concept she wants to portray. Whether it’s through words, images, motion, or something entirely new, Kalkidan seamlessly jumps between forms to bring her vision to life. In all of her creative process, collaboration remains the cornerstone of it all, acting as a bridge to connect and explore the diverse visions and worlds of other artists alongside her own. This collaborative spirit has led her work to be showcased on both local and international platforms, including MEQAQAR LIVE, the “Sew’ew’net” exhibition, Weyra, the “All Shook Up” anthology, the SABAA ART AWARD, and The League of Poets. Currently, Kalkidan is developing concept-based short films, collaborating with a range of creative professionals from various fields.
