🌍 The AABS 2026 Connect Conference officially opened in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, bringing together distinguished leaders, academics, innovators, and delegates from across Africa and beyond for meaningful conversations on the future of business education.

Hosted by Kibur College — sister company of BeteSeb Academy — the conference opened with inspiring remarks from Maurice Radebe, Chairman of the AABS Board, who reflected on the importance of collaboration, innovation, and African-led solutions in shaping the future of management education across the continent.

Lana Elramly, Executive Director of AABS, officially welcomed delegates and highlighted the importance of connection, partnership, and innovation in advancing African business schools and institutions.

Desalegn Mekuria, President of Kibur College, highlighted the institution’s commitment to advancing excellence, innovation, and leadership in business education across Africa.

The conference was honored by the presence of Eba Mijena, Director General for Higher Education Academic Affairs at the Ministry of Education of Ethiopia, who emphasized the relevance of leadership, education, and forward-thinking dialogue in addressing Africa’s evolving realities and future aspirations.

Opening reflections on Africa’s changing business and economic landscape were also shared by Kenenissa Lemie, Secretary General of the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations, who stressed the importance of stronger university-industry linkages, especially in preparing vocational and business students for the future economy.
