Building Capacity for Community Peacebuilding

Under the Practice Peace and Live in Tranquility (PPaT) Project, refresher trainings were conducted for peace promoters and key government representatives across 8 intervention woredas and 19 kebeles in Afar, Oromia, and Somali regions.

The training delivered in four clusters—one in Afar, two in Oromia, and one in Somali—the trainings aimed to strengthen the skills of existing peace promoters while equipping new participants to step in for dropouts.

A flipbook, developed by PHE-EC, was also introduced, and peace promoters were trained on how to utilize it as a practical tool to facilitate the learning process and guide community discussions.

As a result, participants are now better prepared to facilitate inclusive, respectful, and solution-oriented dialogues that effectively address local conflicts and promote lasting peace.
