PRESS NIGHT ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️

Nothing can quite describe just how joyous/terrifying it was to sit in the audience of press night and watch The Snow Queen and everything we’ve been working on come alive onstage.

There have been countless pinch me moments whilst producing and directing this show and so many incredible moments of growth and learning.

When you’ve watched full runs of something you’ve directed so many times you start to loose sight of how to look at it objectively but watching the show on press night I got butterflies. I felt like we’d created something special and I just hoped everyone else would share that same feeling. Either way it was a huge achievement for us and one to celebrate. Overall I felt a feeling of gratitude to have been able to work with so many talented people and finally see their hard work realised.

After reading through the reviews and hearing audience feedback, I feel like I can finally relax and enjoy the ride of watching the shows and feel immense pride.

But the toughest critics of all are still the ones I listen to most… the children. After all it’s their opinion that really matters. This was made for them and luckily I think we passed the vibe check! Phew!

What a ride this has been. Thank you to everyone who has helped us along the way. This feels like the perfect Christmas present.

Peggy is 2 today! 🧡 🐾 my fluffy companion who comes with me most places I go. Poor Peggy was diagnosed with a chronic illness at the start of this year and she’s been back and forward to the vets more times than I can count. We’ve finally got to a place where she’s stable and most importantly she’s happy and enjoying belly rubs and snuggles all day long. 🧡

What a weekend! 🎙️ We went LIVE on today to talk all about the upcoming show that I’m directing and co-producing ‘The Snow Queen’ with bestie and work wife and .theatre.
Yesterday our cast performed 3 songs from the show and rocked the main stage with beautiful music by and stunning costumes .
We go into rehearsals next week and if yesterday’s performance was anything to go by, this show is going to put the MAGIC in Christmas this year. I cannot wait! Get me in that rehearsal room with these insanely talented people .

Do you often work solo? How do you find it? 🤔

Here I am recording a demo for a potential job which landed in my inbox last week. The brief was for a commercial with an ‘epic movie trailer’ vibe.

Like so many of the demos/auditions I send off weekly, I interpreted the script and used my instincts to bring the text to life, recorded my best version and then tried not to think about it again.
(This is a tried and tested way I ensure that auditioning constantly doesn’t overtake my life and I don’t get caught up on the ‘what if’ cycle of dreaming about the potential jobs that I could book).

And then, I got a lovely emailing saying that I’d been approved to record the job. Then a few minutes later I got a request to do a live directed session for a TV commercial. Double whammy! 🎉

Sometimes running a business can feel quite slow moving and when you’re alone recording in your studio it can feel a bit isolating. And then two wonderful emails come in at the same time and it’s all forces go, deadlines to meet and projects to voice and it all feels exciting again.

A huge part of this job is the resilience to keep moving forward through the quiet periods.

To all the entrepreneurs out there, what methods do you use to keep afloat during the quiet periods? Do you have any tried and tested tips for working alone? (Asking for a friend 🫠).

I recently had the pleasure of hosting an acoustic music evening and telling a beautiful story about a love that lasted a lifetime, weaving bits of the story in between the performances of the evening.

The story of young love, heartbreak, loss and the value of family resonated with me deeply so getting to share this with the audience was a real joy.

Last month at the One Voice Awards 2025 .

I was nominated for my very first award, I auditioned and won a place on the roster (🥹) and overall I was bowled over by how giving everyone was with their time and knowledge in the incredible line up of workshops and talks.

What an amazing community! Thanks to all the newbies and OGs who made it such a special time.
