Gangrened

Hi to everyone!

Time to announce a change of line up in Gangrened. Last autumn Olli had to leave Gangrened and came in the native English/Tampere based experimental music artist Edward Trethowan (Sidewards Ebb, Net, NE Trethowan) to substitute him.

Jon and Edward crossed their ways in the autumn of 2023, when Jon was announcing artists for the Drone over Tampere festival, Edward contacted Jon to ask to join the festival line up and after listening his work realized this was a case of a really suitable artist for the festival with actually a international level Jon just could say tottally yes. After the festival Jon and Edward kept in touch to maybe do music together as a separated project but when Olli left Gangrened Jon asked Edward to join and he acepted. This change of line up suppose a interesting creative twist for the composition of the second album of Gangrened as Edward does not really have a background in metal. but happens that Jon and Edward share an interest in the indie dronish, ambient and abstract electronica sounds of artists from labels like Kranky records or Warp records, and happens that these sounds already were going to be a influence for the second album of Gangrened anyway, so it totally made sense and now started a really interesting creative path together in order to make a second record for Gangrened.
Edward´s work is quite focused on granular synthesis and creating electroacoustic mangled textures, having plenty of releases out and also running his own tapes record label.

Now both creative minds will work on existing and new ideas to make the album on a rather slow pace without a specific schedule, album in which might collaborate other external personnel besides Jon and Edward.
