YĂ– FEST vol 6.1 opening tonight
Super happy to be part of the Yö Artists’ Association member festival at Yö-Galleria again. Yö is honestly one of my favourite art communities in Helsinki, quirky, absurd and artsy all at the same time. Messy and lovely (=genuine) in a good way, as art communities should be.
In the exhibition you can see Originating, a piece from my Vector Meditation series, shown alongside works by Pauliina Aarnio, Heli Halme, Annaleena Huhtaniska, Jaakko Vallinvaara, Sara Juvonen, Pauliina Korpi, Anu Nirkko, Valo Vairio, Sanna Vakkilainen, Inari Virmakoski and Kimmo Reinikka.
Opening hours today Feb 26, 18.00 to 21.00 at Yö-Galleria, Helsinki. Free entry.
YO Fest runs for two months with exhibitions, events and performance-based works, so you can also visit later if you miss the opening.
BIGGEST UP to the curator crew, , and the rest!

ORIGINATING
A reflection doesn’t see itself. It never really knows what it looks like from the other side.
In a moment where public discourse is pulled backward into rigid values and simplified worldviews, I create imagery that resists narrowing. Surrealism opens space for doubt, empathy, and contradiction. It allows color, understanding, curiosity, and multiple perspectives instead of binaries driven by projected insecurity and fear of the other and the unknown.
Distortion isn’t escape. It’s resistance.
After all, we’re all looking for care, connection, and belonging.
This work exists as a physical piece (100 Ă— 90 cm), created using vector-based forms printed in 900 dpi and recycled materials. It is currently available. Any questions, slide to my DMs.
