The planned water shutdown at Waila water treatment plant from 5 pm to 8 pm this evening (17/03) has been completed successfully as planned.

The planned temporary shutdown enabled WAF and its contractors to successfully perform the replacement (Phase 2) and commissioning of two new 2MVa permanent transformers.

The shutdown was critical as the old transformers were over 30-years and past their design life.

During the 3-hour shutdown, WAF also used the opportunity to perform urgent maintenance work to the leakage at the Waila raw water pumping station, simultaneously.

The Waila water treatment plant is now back online and production has recommenced.
