“During my travels, I love to photograph all kinds of graffiti, including my visit to Bethlehem and the West Bank. Standing in front of a concrete wall in an area of political tension triggered a paradoxical feeling in me that gave rise to the image of a gap between hope and captivity.“
In “untold paradox”, Tillmann Becker asks questions about the meaning and value of freedom. He questions the behavior in seemingly unsolveable border conflicts and searches for a weaponless world in his dance movement research.
The duet shows a soldier who remains anonymous by his gas mask. The girl wants to take off her gas mask, but does the girl manage to pe*****te his anonymity?

“TILLMANN BUALA BECKER”
The German freelance Choreographer, Bachelor of Dance and Dancemaker Tillmann Buala Becker was born in Indonesia. His carrier as a dancer started at the Coburg City Ballet in Germany, which he also supervised as a physiotherapist.
Later on he went to the Netherlands to enrich his dance and choreographic vocabulary, where he already performed, among others, repertoire of Marco Goecke, Jeori Dubbe and Angelin Preljocaj at the ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem. Still in his studies, he won the 2. Prize at the International Choreographic Competition in Ludwigshafen „No Ballet“ with his duet "The one we act, the other we are”, choreographed onto Milan Kampfer and himself and was nominated for the "ITs Krisztina de Châtel Award" in Amsterdam/ The Netherlands.
Tillmann joined Staatstheater Braunschweig after he got the permission to audition for full-contract-work-relationship already during his last year of university. In Braunschweig he was seen, among others, in works by Henrietta Horn, Kathrin Hall, Jan Pusch, Gregor Zöllig and Roy Assaf. Further engagements as dancer brought him to Landestheater Flensburg, Theater Bielefeld and Unterwegstheater Heidelberg. Beside free projects in Europe and China Tillmann was invited to perform with choreographers such as Hans Henning Paar and Helena Waldmann.
