Have you ever heard of “En Primeur” Week in Bordeaux? The famous En Primeur Week is when wine professionals from around the world gather to taste the newest vintage, still aging in barrels, long before it’s bottled.

This year, En Primeur Week takes place from April 20th to 23rd, 2026.

During this exclusive week, prestigious châteaux open their doors for private tastings, experts sample wines just months after harvest, critics share their ratings, influencing future prices, buyers secure allocations of highly sought-after wines.

But what makes it truly unique? These wines are sold before they even exist in their final form. This is called buying “en primeur”, a way to access exceptional wines early, often at a more attractive price.
