Rocky k**b #20/138 ⛰️

Rocky K**b took us to the other side of the Tararuas, exploring the south east corner this time. We spent the night at Waohine Campsite, then got up early, crossed a massive suspension bridge, and headed up the track through some seriously beautiful bush.

The Mt Reeves track wasn’t sign posted so we weren’t originally sure if there was even going to be much of a track, but it turned out to be awesome and pretty untouched, with heaps of kidney fern everywhere.

Six or seven hundred metres of climbing later, we made it to the top of Rocky K**b, ticking off k**b number 20. Feels good to be well into double digits now 😄

That’s all from the Tararuas for now, but there are still plenty of k***s left to summit, so we’ll definitely be back!

Baxter K**b #19/138 🌿

Normally these missions have us deep in the backcountry, hiking through big mountains, but after six days in the Tararuas we found ourselves back in Wellington chasing one of the city k***s instead. We typed “Baxter’s K**b” straight into Google Maps, drove to the car park, followed the sign pointing the way, and before long we were standing at the trig beside a cell tower overlooking Porirua.

A pretty random summit, but a cool reminder that this mission is about exploring all corners of New Zealand, the wild places and everything in between. If there’s a k**b, we’re gonna summit it. Even if it’s sitting above the capital city!
