Janja Garnbret has just completed “Bibliographie,” a 9b+ route, in Céüse, in France. The Slovenian climber has made the first female ascent of this major route, which was established by Alex Megos in 2020. She also becomes only the second woman to reach the 9b+ grade (5.15c), after Brooke Raboutou. An extraordinary achievement. https://alpinemag.com/climber-janja-garnbret-first-woman-ascent-bibliographie-9b-ceuse-france/

Forty years ago, on May 11, 1986, French explorer Jean-Louis Étienne reached the geographic North Pole alone, after 63 days of walking and more than a thousand kilometers across the ice. No GPS, no satellite phone. Just a sextant and an obsessive idea: the North Pole. 63 days of solitude, for a feat that we might call “analog” today. LTE, satellite, messages, position sharing, SOS: Garmin brings its outdoor watch closer to the inReach universe. To put it simply, a fēnix 8 Pro is a fēnix 8 with a built-in inReach beacon.
