Bringing experience in project management and communication, Giovanni will help amplify the visibility of cooperation across the Mediterranean, support the organisation of our Mid-Term Event, and strengthen youth engagement throughout the Programme’s activities.

𝗜𝗜𝗜 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗼! 🚀🚀🚀

🤓And, of course, the Interreg Euro-MED Programme Joint Secretariat is well represented here in Barcelona, with its three-and-a-half members (according to the failed selfie) dedicated to following the Sustainable Tourism Mission activities; as well as Curzio Cervelli, Head of the Joint Secretariat.

👉In his opening speech, Curzio Cervelli reminded us that the 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 is not just about the €𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗼-𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟰.

Rather, it is about the 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀 developed by our projects and the innovative ways in which they are 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 and inspire local, regional, national and EU authorities. To achieve this, synergies and mainstreaming are more important than ever.

👉Ms Andreea Staicu, Acting Head of the Tourism Unit at DG MOVE, also emphasised the importance of the sector. 𝗜𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, 𝟱𝟴𝟮 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗨, 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝟯 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝟳% 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻'𝘀 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲.

The main challenges are balanced tourism for destinations, sustainable connectivity, digitalisation, and skills.
