🌏⛑️ The Pacific First Aid Manual is here!
A major milestone for First Aid education across the Pacific, the new Pacific First Aid Manual is now available: globally aligned, regionally contextualised and locally owned.
Contextualisation is more than translation. It means ensuring that First Aid guidance reflects local realities, cultures, risks, resources and ways of life, while remaining grounded in global evidence and international standards.
📖 More than a manual, this resource is a practical tool designed to strengthen First Aid education across Pacific communities, empower people to act with confidence in emergencies and ultimately help save lives.
🤝 This achievement is the result of the collective commitment, expertise and collaboration of Pacific National Red Cross Societies and all partners who contributed to making it possible.

🌍Announcing the Theme of World First Aid Day 2026 ⛑️
The IFRC Global First Aid Reference Centre is proud to announce the theme of 2026:
❤️ First Aid in Migration Contexts ❤️
The World First Aid Day will be celebrated on September 12, 2026, with a campaign focused on:
🤝 First Aid as a tool for autonomy and dignity.
👐 Breaking barriers by approaching first aid in an inclusive way.
📚 Tailoring the training content to better address the different contexts.
By mid 2024, an estimated 304 million people were living as international migrants worldwide, yet many people on the move still face barriers to accessing essential and life-saving support.
First aid is more than an emergency response skill it is also a powerful tool for dignity, autonomy, and community support. ❤️

📚Strengthening First Aid Education in Schools ⛑️
Education in schools plays a vital role in saving lives and building stronger, more resilient communities especially in challenging contexts. Integrating first aid into schools helps equip both students and teachers with the knowledge and confidence to respond effectively during emergencies. ❤️
Children are never too young to learn first aid. The earlier these lifesaving skills are introduced, the more naturally they become part of everyday life and community preparedness.
To support National Societies in developing sustainable and integrated school-based first aid programmes, the IFRC Global First Aid Reference Centre, in collaboration with the IFRC MENA Regional Office, has developed a practical guide focused on implementing first aid education in schools across the MENA region. 🌍
Available in both English and Arabic, the guide aims to promote a culture of safety, preparedness, and resilience among young learners.
