themes of darkness and light have been heavy on my mind as we move through the longest day of the year.

in novel writing as in life.

The team that got their small family to France for a blissful vacation.

Thank you so much to all of you following along, both old and new! Planning an intro to my beautiful novel soon, for those of you have just started following along, but in the meantime….My dream is to write novels in this magical country. Just throwing that out there. 🤪 And I fully plan for some of the manuscripts to be in French!!! 🇫🇷✨

“I had come to the conclusion that I must really be French, only no one had ever informed me of this fact. I loved the people, the food, the lay of the land, the civilized atmosphere, and the generous pace of life.”

“Stories make us more alive, more human, more courageous, more loving.” —Madeleine L’Engle

And that’s why I write novels. In the act of creation, I become more alive, more human, more courageous, more loving. If those things matter to you, follow along!

In today’s publishing world, securing a book deal is predicated on having a following. Every person helps, every share helps! To follow, or not? Here’s a little more about what I write about and who I am:

My writing: My first manuscript (represented by the inimitable Don Pape) is historical fiction set in the Cotswolds, England, between the two World Wars. I have two other projects in the mix, one of them in French, another one something magical/fantasy for young adults.

Me: Somehow, this wild ride lead to me turning 40 [which is strange, I still think I’m 22], marrying a man [tall, dark, and handsome] having three daughters [10, 8, and five], managing the communications department at our county’s economic development council full-time, and cooking, cleaning, and gardening in between.

But there’s a lot more I love, of course. Some of the things I share here are my love of music (classical and French and much more), drinking wine with friends, speaking French [or Québécois 😉], traveling [especially to Europe, but anywhere in a pinch], beautiful things [especially flowers and spring]. I have a thing for robins, lilacs, dogwoods, blue, and gold.

Please follow! Share! Support! In the midst of this crazy life, it’s hard to show up on SM, but I’m doing it because I LOVE this book—and I think you will too! I want to get it into the hands of as many people as possible.

“Love does not triumph easily or without pain, but story gives us the courage to endure the pain.” —Madeleine L'Engle
