As someone who has built their life around travel, the idea of “settling down” seemed like the end of the world. So when we were looking for a home-base, we knew it would have to be special.

Checking all the boxes seemed an impossible task, but with trails at our doorstep, world-class skiing down the road, mountain vista chalets and riverside dining, all surrounding one of the most beautiful lakes in the world - it feels like we’re traveling every time we step outside.

The last few months were the first time in years I didn’t feel the constant pull to hop on a plane to some faraway land. Winter in the 3rd snowiest city in the US felt like an adventure in itself, and now I couldn’t be more excited to discover a whole new world here this summer - but don’t worry, there’s still plenty of travels to share right around the corner!

A sister city to my hometown of San Francisco, each with its steep hills, numerous trams, and beautiful bridges.

Whether you brave the climb in heat of summer or opt for one of the classic transports, around every corner is the promise of unlimited Pastel de Nata pastries. A Portuguese tradition (and obsession) which of course match the city’s golden color.
