🌱Le "Végétal", forme de vie fondamentale, celle qui sous-tend toutes les autres. Celle qui inspire l'élan artistique de Florence Gossec et Alain Joséphine. Nous avons hâte de vous accueillir !
The “Vegetal”, a fundamental form of life, the one that underlies all others. The one that inspires the artistic impulse of Florence Gossec and Alain Joséphine. We look forward to welcoming you 🥰

[Text on the slides below]
In this proposal, we explore the fundamental importance of the vegetal in our lives and how it feeds the inspiration of two contemporary artists directly connected to the Caribbean nature.

Alain Joséphine shares the sensations he experiences when his body is in motion within nature. He engages in a pictorial exploration of the landscapes of his childhood in Martinique, working in a dance of his body in front of the canvas. His landscapes transcend figurative conventions to give life to visual narratives whose depth irresistibly draws us in.

We sense the superimposition of many layers of life, all sustained by the fundamental essence of the vegetal, plunging us into an experience that returns us to our intimate understanding of nature.

Florence Gossec’ sculptures unfold like contemplative meditations on nature. More than its physical experience, she focuses on the impact of the vegetal on her inner world and the state of mind it allows her to reach.

From meticulously hammered plants to knitted organic forms, her sculptural approach oscillates between realism and abstraction, between organic nature and its spiritual dimension. Her sculptures are works of luminous aestheticism, like bursts of joy felt from the experience of the vegetal.

Through the works of Alain Joséphine and Florence Gossec, we are invited to reflect deeply on the place of nature in our existence. These artists explore the complex interweaving of the links between humanity and nature, questioning our relationship with the environment and with our own nature.
