What a way to conclude our very first full season alongside the tremendous Ben Goldscheider, who delivered a powerful, riveting performance of Ligeti's insane Hamburg concerto, as well as treating us to a mind-blowing 'Air' of Jorg Widmann and to Villa-Lobos' 4th Choros, sharing the stage with .14 .
Feeling so grateful to get to be surrounded by such dear and amazing friends and colleagues as well for Strauss' beloved Bourgeois Gentilhomme, with extraordinary solos from everyone ! We also got to perform the French premiere of my dearest 's gorgeous work, Stages, for strings and solo trumpet, beautifully sung by the young and super talented .horrach

Stay tuned for our the announcement of our second season!cortot

Haunting moment from Elena Firsova's Before the Thunderstorm, that brings to life the poem 'Stinging Eyelashes' by Ossip Mandelstam, in which he foresees his detention by the Soviet authorities. We had the honor of playing the French première of Firsova's 1994 work, in her presence, on September 25th and 26th, here a clip at the Salle Cortot! Don't miss 's sublime dialogue with Camille towards the end, in which together they evoke an old XIXth century prisoners' song.

Eyelashes are stinging. Tear settled in the chest.
I feel without fear that a thunderstorm awakens and will wake.
Someone strange hurries me to forget something.
It is stuffy, and nevertheless deadly I want to live.

I raise myself from my plank bed at the first sound
Looking around me and around with wild and sleepy eyes,
Like that prisoner in the pea-jacket singing his rough song
At the hour when a strip of dawn rises over the jail.

Extraordinary playing from Perrine Chapoutot, Joe Christophe, Emile Carlioz, Anna Lee, Rachel Koblyakov, Aurore Pignoque, Andrew Briggs, Vitier Vivas & Jérôme Guicherd
