Signals that predict trends.
Parallel humanity. Unprecedented forms of expression emerge to account for reflections on human existence in a world where the lines between fiction and reality are blurred. The M+ Museum Hong Kong presented Human One, a kinetic video sculpture by artist Beeple, representing the first human being born in the metaverse. The hybrid work of art integrates both digital and physical dimensions as it consists of a human figure in an astronaut suit inside a three-meter-high rotating box-like structure composed of four LED screens. The traveler moves through a constantly evolving virtual world, heading towards a destination that is undefined. As the astronaut keeps moving, the environment adapts and transforms into a collage of different scenarios, from oneiric to dystopian, hallucinatory and gloomy. Beeple updates the virtual landscape every so often, adding elements from the Internet and his own personal experience to reflect the constant contextual change.Photo courtesy of M+ Museum.
