The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 5.0% in April 2026, marking the fifth consecutive year at this level.
The number of unemployed individuals within the OECD was largely stable at 35.1 million.
In April 2026, the youth unemployment rate in the OECD (for individuals aged 15-24) experienced a slight increase of 0.2 percentage points (p.p.), rising to 11.4%. This rate remained significantly higher, by 7.2 p.p., than that for workers aged 25 and over, which has been around 4.2% since February 2022.
