This project first came to life during our creative residency for last June. For the “Toulouse les Orgues” festival, the project is reborn in a new form. The title “Les Jardins Suspendus” inevitable evokes the mythical Hanging Gardens of Babylon- one of the seven wonders of the ancient world- and the luminous and very familiar to organists, work by Jehan Alain that shares the same name. Here however, the idea extends beyond the realm of myth. The hanging garden becomes a metaphor for the organ itself - suspended between heaven and earth, its countless voices blooming beneath the vaults that shelter it. A garden of sound, where harp, medieval organ and human voice intertwine - sincere and dreamlike. In the arms of the mesmerizing Église du Gesù in Toulouse, we hope to see you there 🪽
