Alcester 41 Club

A record number of walkers (17) set out, this morning, on the Alcester 41 Club Christmas Walk. A chilly, foggy morning deterred no-one as we climbed Oversley Hill into the the clear air above affording the usual gorgeous views towards Ragley and the distant Cotswolds.

The now traditional lunch this year was at The Fish Wixford whose staff surpassed themselves in service and excellent food. During the meal the group was silenced just long enough for Chairman David (he is the one with the tree growing out of his head) to pass a cheque for £170.00 to Jude Bowley from The Shakespeare Hospice Friends, this being monies raised at our recent 40th Charter Night and in recognition of the excellent service to the community delivers by the hospice.

A further, similar sum has been sent to Pancreatic Cancer UK to help in the work they do in research into a cure for this disease.
