WCM have taken delivery of a new Stratasys Fortus 450MC High Performance 3D Printing machine in order to expand existing capabilities in rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing solutions. With increased build speeds, the Stratasys 450MC compliments the suite of options already available within WCM, offering even greater design freedom and innovation opportunities as well as improved rapid build timing where turnaround time is key.

The technology offers even higher accuracy and reliability during builds when compared to other similar prototyping methods on the market, with opportunities in delivering functional prototypes, custom tooling and low-volume end-use parts with complex geometries typically processed in hours, without sacrificing quality.

The added benefit of the Fortus 450MC machine is in its extensive portfolio of materials that cover a range of mechanical properties. The selection of production-intent materials currently available enable Design and Engineering teams to consider replacing conventional parts with alternatives including ABS, Carbon Fibre, Polycarbonate, PEI and PEKK. In total there are currently 14 preferred materials that can be processed on the machine with a further 5 approved and validated materials. As Stratasys expand their material offering with open-sourced materials, WCM will be in a position to offer an even wider selection to customers, targeting a wider range of technical materials to suit a variety of applications.
