With lots of fireworks going off over the next couple of weeks the loud bangs and bright flashes of fireworks can scare some cats. Here are Paws At Home's top tips to help reduce the stress of fireworks for your cats:

• Keep your cats in once it gets dark; make sure they have access to a litter tray if needed.
• Make sure doors and windows are closed; draw your curtains to help reduce the noise and the bright flashes from outside.
• Make sure your cats have somewhere safe and comfortable to curl up and hide in needed.
• Reassure your cat if needed but do not coax them out of hiding they are trying to feel safe and will come out when they feel more secure.
• If you are going out leave either the TV or the radio playing this will help to reduce the sudden impact of fireworks.
