The role our fathers play in our lives can never be overstated.
My dad was a farmer, a Christian, and a man who loved his country. Those values shaped me and helped make me the man I am today. I am thankful that I was able to call Charles Boucher Poots my dad. He is still very much missed.
I count it a privilege, indeed the greatest calling I will ever have, to be a husband to Glynis, a father, a father-in-law, and now a grandfather to my wonderful children and grandchildren. Being a father carries with it a responsibility and a joy like no other.
Family is everything. If your dad is still with you, give him a call and tell him you love him. You never know when you may not get another opportunity.
Fatherhood also gives us our first understanding of God. God is our Heavenly Father, indeed the truest and best Father any man could ever know. I am thankful every day for His presence, love, and faithfulness in my life.
If you would like to hear more about my Heavenly Father, you are warmly invited to Carryduff Free Presbyterian Church tonight at 7.00pm, where I will be sharing my testimony and telling the story of God’s grace in my life.
Happy Father’s Day!
“Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.”
Proverbs 17:6

The rain may have dampened the leaflets, but it certainly didn’t dampen our spirits!
