As 2026 starts off, we started by taking a look back at the previous year, as a few Fridays ago we held our inaugural Big Fat Quiz of the Year (DI edition) 🗓️🖋️🗒️ at the Sunflower Bar 🌻
There were a number of different topics covered, notable events from the year prior, questions about DI itself, some general knowledge too, and even a few wildcard rounds to make the evening interesting and get everyone invested!

A highly contested evening ended with the LoGang showing their superior knowledge of 2025, and picking up some lovely 2026 calenders, so they can keep their knowledge sharp for next year's one!

Almost a month to the day on, we are all finally recovered from our annual Christmas Party in Belfast!🎄🍽️
For 2025 we attended the lovely Crumlin Road Gaol, and a terrific evening was had by all! We had gambling 🃏🎰🎲(with fake money of course), and we had a céilí performed, which everyone had a blast with, and was a great way to burn off the lovely dinner right and quick 🕺💃
There was even a visit from a little known troublemaker THE GRINCH, but luckily we were just such great craic, he decided to just join in on the fun!

Also on the same day we had the return of our Festive Football, a huge 5-a-Side tournament which had a terrific turn out ⚽ It was a cold December morning, but nobody let that quash the fiery passion in their souls, and a hotly contested ended with our cleverly named Team 3 (aka the team in black) taking home the trophy!

Overall a very busy day for Data Intellect, and with us now in 2026, there's plenty of more fun events on the way!

On Thursday evening we held our inaugural Data Intellect Charity Poker Night! ♥️♣️♦️♠️
Lots of fun was had by all, with plenty of friendly competition, all for a good cause, with a grand total of £90 raised for !!
After hand after hand of high bets, plenty of folds and a ton of bluffs, there could only be one winner as Aaron came away with the title! There will be plenty of those who will want to unseat him from his throne, so watch this space for potential new annual event at DI!

All in? Challenge accepted...

Sunday was World Baking Day, so to celebrate we had a bake sale in our Belfast office! And since we had it on Tuesday, which also happened to be World Bee Day, we decided to raise money for Bumblebee Conservation trust!🐝🐝🐝 There were some bee-utiful sweet treats on display, and the presentation was as sweet as honey 🍯🤤
And all said and done, we are buzzing to announce we raised over £130! A huge thanks to all of our bakers, and all of our busy workers who generously donated!

In honour of , DI employees all over the globe have been taking part in a walking challenge, because as we all know a nice walk can be great to help clear your head, especially with a friend! Our goal over the course of the month is for everyone to walk 60 miles each over the course of May, and also to walk through all of our offices, from Vancouver all the way to Singapore - which added up office to office makes a whopping 13,536 miles! When we last took stock last week, we were already 4309 miles in which means we're already nearly from Vancouver all the way to Belfast! We've also split all of our employees into teams to give a gun competitive edge to the month, and as you can see it's been an entertaining race. Keep an eye on our socials to see how far around the globe we meander, and also who will become Walking Challenge Champion!
