Stand Against Racism & Inequality

Today marks the end of GRT History Month. As one member of our GR8T+ Voices Group said of GRT History Month, "that's my everyday." Awareness months serve to highlight communities; to celebrate them whilst also raising awareness of the barriers they face. We should do this every day.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is observed globally on June 15th to highlight and oppose the abuse, neglect, and exploitation of older people.

The theme for this year is "Better Understood. Still Overlooked.", to mark WEAAD's 20th anniversary and acknowledge not only on how far society has come in recognising the abuse of older people, but how far we still have to go.

Despite twenty years of progress driven by committed professionals, campaigners and policymakers, older victim-survivors still remain too often side-lined and ignored.

At SARI, we stand against any hate, prejudice or abuse directed at someone because of their age.
