A first for Wales and a step forward for men’s health.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service has taken a practical step by becoming the first in Wales to install male incontinence bins across its sites.
In total, 26 bins and 11 product vending machines have been introduced across 56 locations.
This supports men living with incontinence, including those affected by prostate cancer, and is part of our BOG STANDARD campaign in partnership with Prostate Cancer UK.
It’s a simple change, but one that helps ensure people have access to the right facilities when they need them, with dignity.
As highlighted by the service, it’s about breaking stigma and setting a new standard for workplaces.

What if something as simple as a washroom bin could help someone feel confident leaving the house?
BOG STANDARD, created by us in partnership with Prostate Cancer UK, sets clear guidelines to help businesses and public spaces provide washrooms where men can dispose of incontinence waste with dignity.
Research shows:
- 78% of men feel anxious about accessing disposal facilities when leaving home
- 64% have missed major life events
- 58% say their mental health has been affected
It’s about helping men feel supported wherever they are, at work, out with family, or in public spaces.
Would your washroom meet BOG STANDARD?

Happy Pride Month!
At phs, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, and able to be themselves, whoever they are.
Pride is a moment to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, but also to recognise the importance of creating environments where inclusion is built into everyday experiences.
That’s why we focus on practical actions, from improving access to period products for anyone who needs them, to supporting people to dispose of hygiene waste with dignity. Because inclusive washroom spaces matter, especially for those who can often feel overlooked or excluded.
Creating equality is not just about awareness. It is about removing barriers, reducing stigma, and making sure spaces work for everyone.
Inclusion is everyone’s responsibility, and Pride is a chance to learn, reflect and take action.

This World Ocean Day, it’s time to rethink what happens after the flush.
Every day, millions of sanitary items, from wet wipes to period products, pass directly into our waterways, harming wildlife and polluting our oceans. In the UK alone, 2.5 million tampons and 1.4 million pads are flushed down the toilet each day.
At phs, we feel strongly that there’s still enormous scope to help stop this. How?
♻️ By having a phs bin in place to dispose of waste responsibly, the hygiene waste we collect from our customers is diverted away from landfill thanks to our LifeCycle Strategy and partnerships with energy-from-waste networks, helping power homes, schools, businesses and communities.
🗑️ Through our exclusive partnership with FabLittleBag, we are encouraging people to bin, not flush.
🌊 We are contributing towards cleaning up the planet’s oceans by producing floor mats from ECONYL brand, a durable nylon yarn made from discarded fishing nets recovered by volunteer divers. After use, our mats are recycled for equestrian wear or converted into refuse derived fuel for energy.
This World Ocean Day on 8 June, join us in protecting our oceans.
Make a small change that makes a big difference. Choose to bin, not flush.
