Innovation Loans Are Back – But Innovate UK Has Added A New Gatekeeper

From 6 June 2026, UK SMEs can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for Innovate UK's Innovation Loans programme. For many innovative businesses this could represent one of the most attractive forms of non-dilutive funding currently available, with loans ranging from £100,000 to £5 million and funding available for up to 100% of eligible project costs.

Before anyone gets too excited and starts asking ChatGPT to write an application over the weekend, there is something important to understand.
