It was our pleasure to bring Volvo B9TL VW07 RBH to The Low-Ish Floor Running Day today. It was a thoroughly enjoyable event to participate in, with all the other buses looking fantastic and great vibes from passengers and spectators alike!

Thanks go to The North London Collection for organising the event and inviting us to participate, hopefully will run again next year!

Volvo B9TL VW07 RBH will be out at the Low-Ish Floor running day today, running number 18. The “kickdown” function will be switched on for the occasion. It is planned to be out for the whole duty, but VLA94 will be on standby for the second half.

Fleet updates 🛠️🪛⚙️

Volvo B9TL LK59 FDU joins our fleet. The assigned fleet number is WVN23 and was purchased because we need Euro 6 compliant deckers that can handle the work we do. She is booked in for an initial safety inspection and mechanical evaluation next week, standard procedure when we introduce a new vehicle to the fleet. Whether we proceed with our refresh programme or dispose of the vehicle depends on what is found. If we keep it, it will be fitted with Hanovers and PSVAIR kit.

Volvo B9TL VW07 RBH is seen at East Croydon operating the 0332 St Pancras International to Three Bridges service this morning. The lesser spotted alternating displays are in use, as most of the passengers are travelling to Gatwick Airport. This vehicle will operate the 0240 St Pancras to Three Bridges tonight and will be withdrawn from service upon arrival at the depot.

Volvo B7TL LJ54 BDZ has now been withdrawn from service pending disposal. The recent hot weather and daytime use has revealed an engine overheating issue, which prompted a thorough investigation given the level of mechanical work carried out by us. It was found that the electric fan system had been hacked to pieces in a previous life - wires cut and missing, control box missing, evidence of custom hardwiring jobs and so on. The hatchet job done on it is likely to be the cause of frequent blown fuses and erratic fan operation. We are reverting this to the original Grayson design to restore proper function ahead of selling the vehicle.
