Currently hiring for a firewood operative in our timber yard.
Immediate start
Self employed, moving to PAYE
Post based in Bonvilston

𝐊𝐄𝐘 𝐏𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐒
▪️Must be competent in regular machinery maintenance e.g greasing, tensioning chains, cleaning rollers etc

▪️Happy to work outside as well as an indoor environment.

▪️Comfortable with routine & repetitive tasks.

▪️ This is a hands-on role requiring a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or alone.

▪️Applicants should be positive, reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable with the requirement for physical fitness due to the labour intensity of the role.
(e.g moving timber, crates & wood cages.)

𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐃𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒

▪️Supporting the tree surgery teams with loading & offloading the vehicles , vehicle checking & cleaning.

▪️Sorting kit & equipment and other generalised tasks required by the business.

𝐅𝐔𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍

▪️Clean driving licence required if the candidate would like the option for delivery driving of the timber in the winter months ahead.

𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄

▪️Proven experience in yard work, outdoor labour, builders merchants or machinery background.

▪️CS30 Cross cutting with chainsaw is desirable but not essential*

▪️Emergency First Aid at Work & Forestry also desirable, but not essential to apply.*

Shocking stats …

How much time do you spend outdoors? ☀️

The Wildlife Trusts recently commissioned research* into people's childhood memories of being outdoors in nature and how much time they spend outdoors now. The results revealed some worrying trends.

38% of interviewees in Wales said they now spend three hours a week or less outdoors. This is despite the majority having positive memories of spending time outside as a child.
