The second Welsh X Sorbian friendship residency took place at over the past week! In 4.5 days we recorded 12 songs, combining our minority languages with beats and production by .ronin and who worked very long days making everything sound epic.

We had an amazing time and we all realise how lucky we were to be given a space to create with no distractions, it’s such a rare thing to just be able to make music freely! 🥰 Thanks to everyone who organised for this to happen and the Sorbian foundation for funding it.

and spent the week collaborating on welsh-language lyrics, and their Sorbian counterparts brought a mix of upper and lower sorbian to the songs. Musical ideas were bounced around like ping pong with Geigerzähler bringing his epic punk violin to the mix with old Sorbian melodies, and from .wakuum making her vocal debut! brought some lush bass lines to some tunes, and Uta (formerly of Berlinska Droha) got us all singing beautiful harmonies in the sorbian language. I’ve probably forgotten some people who contributed to the week, but it was all such a great collaborative process, thank you everyone. 🎹🥁🎸🎻
