Released back in 2018 on Bubblewrap Collective, Ivan Moult's 2nd album ‘Longest Shadow’.

Vinyl and CD packaging design. Especially enjoyed laying out the back of the record. The idea was to include the lyrics and linear notes to reflect the 1960’s folk album layout, but with a modern edge. Simple typography and a clean black and white colour palette to reflect the dark teal on the cover.

‘Zone Rouge’, tells the story of humanity’s contempt for the earth beneath us, the air above us and the people around us.

Our fractured planet lays the groundwork for the 11 new tracks. Each referring to a location on Earth where something bad has happened: An act of corruption against the planet, an act of evil against fellow humans and occasionally both.

The Gentle Good - Ruins / Adfeilion

With exciting news of the announcement of this years Welsh Music Prize shortlist, it's hard to believe that it's been 5 years since the release of The Gentle Good's 'Ruins / Adfeilion' which won the prize in 2017.

The artwork for vinyl and CD were made using the process of marbling, and it was great to have a proper 'Hands on' approach to the project. The release was strengthened with a blue and yellow marbled vinyl too.

Working with Carwyn Ellis is always a pleasure. I've been designing and developing his websites and laying out album artwork for the past 5 years or so.

When it came to designing his new album with Rio 18, a live album recorded with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Carwyn's vision aligned perfectly with mine.

Using a painting by Michael Gillette as the centrepiece. The inspiration was taken from 1960's record design, mostly from Verve Records (Stan Getz/Luiz Bonfa). The combination of bold colours and Helvetica typography delivers a timeless and classic feel and suits Rio 18's music perfectly.
