You’ll find Crimson Spire Rooftop Bar at in The Forum. It’s only been open a few months so it’s not on everyone’s radar just yet. Which means you can enjoy it without having to elbow your way to the bar. Bonus.

Take the elevator from the hotel lobby to the fifth floor and voila: gorgeous views, a laid-back city vibe, friendly staff and a nice selection of a cocktails.

We spent a sunny Saturday afternoon drinking up the atmosphere, soaking in the rooftop vista toward Gloucester Cathedral before getting our kicks with table football. I may have lost, but - I was playing with a cocktail in hand so…

If you need a weekend away AND you’re a history nerd, a stay at is a must! So much fun, brilliant food, haunted rooms, costumes and general royal hoopla! Loved every moment! It’s not far from Bristol so easy to get to down or up the motorway or via train.
