At Successfactory we often get asked if we are running open programmes for leaders who have an individual need, or someone who has just joined the business and missed out on one of our leadership journeys. Or perhaps a small organisation looking for development for just a couple of managers.
We've embraced this need for 2025 and I'm delighted to say we have three workshops available initially, with more to follow.
The initial workshops are focused on Building and Maintaining High Performing Teams with Dave based on his Team Foundations book, and Running Effective Meetings with Martin based on No More Bored Rooms. These are available as a 1-day face-to-face workshop at various locations around the UK, and there is an online version available too.
There is also a 2-day LIFO Practitioner Certification workshop, again run by Martin Peterson.
The workshops will share all of our tried, tested and proven tools and frameworks based on our New World Curriculum. The real practical stuff that our clients love us for!
We will also be running workshops on Leadership, ChangePro and Resilience later in the year.

The Foundations of Team Success
(An excerpt from Team Foundations by Dave Dayman)
https://www.teamfoundations.co.uk/
"A few years ago, I delivered a senior leadership development programme to a high-level building regulations company in the UK. Not only was this a fantastic learning journey for the leaders involved, but it was also an eye-opener for me. I learnt more about the intricacies of the building industry, and more specifically, knowledge about how houses are built than I ever imagined existed. It got me thinking that putting a high-performing team together is a bit like constructing a building. Firstly, you need to establish the purpose and function of the building before you put it together. Is it a family home? If so, how many bedrooms? Perhaps it is a business unit, warehouse, or office. Let us use the example of a house.
A properly built house (and any building, of course) is only as good as its foundations – without a sturdy and durable base, it would simply crumble and fall when exposed to time and external pressures. Although several ubiquitous elements are critical to all building foundations (bases), the finished supports will not be 100% identical. The foundations for buildings in areas prone to earthquakes, for example, are different, according to the standard of foundations found in UK homes. They need to be different as they need to cope with different situations. The foundations of a team are the same.
Therefore, it is imperative that you understand why your team exists—what its purpose is and in what contexts and situations you operate. If you do not know this, how can you build the correct foundations?
It is significant to point out that the foundations of a high-performing team are generally not the fancy, exciting things that people often say are the traits of high-performing teams (the lovely-looking building above the ground) but are the simple processes and procedures that have been agreed and consistently applied and adapted.
Teams, like buildings, need a strong bond between the bricks (people) to keep them together. Again, this is back to basics—get simple procedures in place and let each ‘brick’ understand its place and how important it is to the strength and integrity of the entire building and its wider impact.
Each building may have several specialist rooms, such as a utility, kitchen, or bedroom. Each business/team has separate sub-departments or specialisms, but they all contribute to the whole. Without the input of each, it simply does not work as it is meant to."
If you would like to find out more about Team Foundations and how to build a great team, Dave is running a fantastic workshop on 15th November 2024 at Wychwood Park Hotel in Crewe.
