Deva Bridge Club
Duplicate bridge club for people in the Chester area
The Deva Bridge Club Committee are excited to announce a very special event exclusively for members:
On Thursday 19th November 2026 the club will welcome Andrew Robson for an all-day special.
Running from 9:45am to 5pm, the cost will be £40.00 pp to include teas/coffees and a one-course lunch.
Please enrol for the event on the website. It will be limited to 16 tables and is expected to be fully subscribed. You can register with a partner, or register singly, in which case we will pair you up with others entering singly. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If there are any unfilled spaces then it will be opened up to non club members.
Designed for players looking to sharpen their skills and deepen their understanding, Andrew will guide you through a series of specially prepared instructional deals. The focus is on practical judgement, clear thinking, and key areas that consistently influence results at the table. Suitable for a broad range of experience (not beginners).
Andrew's bridge successes have included no fewer than 7 Gold Cup wins, European Open Championship winners and the winner of the prestigious American Reisinger Trophy twice. Andrew has a daily bridge column in The Times and also a popular online BridgeCast.

The Deva Bridge Club were well represented at the annual Christleton Parish meeting on Saturday 23rd April. We were visited by local MP Aphra Brandreth (with leaflet) seen here talking to Susan Haywood. Aphra is a keen bridge player herself and we extended an invite to come and play. Many thanks to club members Roger Carter, Mandy Evans, Anne Moreton and Mary Palin who selflessly gave up their time to promote the club.

Well done to Janice Mairs for winning this year's Fearn Cup to go with the Pairs title already bagged. It's turning into quite a year for Janice who also helped organize this competition this year. In second place was Bob Ashton, and third Alan Sharples, well done to you all.
