Back out Fording last weekend with KMR Sport

Hectic day racing in both CCRC FF1600 and the United Formula Ford

CCRC FF1600 -
Qualifying 6th for both races just behind the super fast regulars.
Race 1 was possibly one of the oddest races I’ve run fighting with the lead pack in the first half of the race, safety car being called on lap 6 so late it nearly caused its own accident coming out the pit lane just as the front 4 were passing🫣 then picking up myself and not allowing anyone to pass to catch up the lead pack, finding myself having to conduct the restart from 5th place while the leaders were some 12+ seconds up the road🙃 quickly diminishing any chances of me racing with the leaders for a better result.
Race 2 saw me gaining and losing positions fighting for the podium and settling into 5th before seeing one of the cars in front had a 5 second track limit penalty applied. I was returning to the paddock on the cooldown lap I had a lot of my team/supporters telling me I was actually promoted to 3rd 🥉with another car also getting a track limit penalty. Elated with this, we headed to the awards ceremony later in the day to find out that both of the track limit penalties had been revoked and a different car in the lead pack had overtaken under a yellow flag (which in the rule book is a straight DQ) but somehow the decision was made to give them a grid penalty at a future round🤦🏻‍♂️ so what was potentially a 2nd 🥈came back as another 5th🙃🤷🏻‍♂️

United Formula Ford -
Qualified 5th, not quite getting a lap I was happy with but still a solid position to work from.
Race 1 was great fun finishing 4th and being only 0.5 from 1st over the line!
Race 2 was shaping up to be the best race yet moving into 3rd on lap 7, waiting for a moment to arise to move forward further. On the entry to Quarry on the final lap, the 2 leaders fighting for position, both pushed out wide I took the lead. Then a silly mistake by myself into Tower allowing a car to get alongside, running out onto the grass and unfortunately colliding with another car into the chicane putting us out of the running with only 1 corner to go🥲
