🌟 Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) National Championships Rider Spotlight – Alfie 🌟

Meet Alfie, who has been riding with Quest RDA since he was just 5 years old. Now aged 13, we have had the privilege of watching him grow in confidence, determination and skill.

Alfie has Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, which affects all four of his limbs. Everyday tasks can be challenging, as he experiences difficulties with mobility, balance, coordination and fine motor skills. Despite these challenges, Alfie never stops giving his best.

For the past couple of years Alfie has competed in the Countryside Challenge at the Regional Qualifiers, but this year he decided he wanted to take on a new challenge and try Dressage. Since then he has worked incredibly hard, practising in his Quest sessions as well as taking additional lessons through our Approved Centre at Laris Farm.

At the National Championships, Alfie and our wonderful pony Jack demonstrated just how much that hard work had paid off. They have developed a fantastic partnership together (although if Alfie keeps growing, we may soon have to find him a bigger horse! 😉).

Competing at the National Championships for the very first time, Alfie rode a beautiful test, achieved a fantastic score and was awarded 1st place in his class.

We couldn’t be prouder of everything Alfie has achieved. His journey is a wonderful example of what can happen with determination, encouragement and the incredible partnership between rider and horse.

Our Tuesday riders enjoyed their last ride of term in style. They were awarded Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) Proficiency test certificates for all they had learnt and achieved. Well done to them all and huge thanks to Coach Kim and the Tuesday volunteer team. Enjoy the holidays! 💙💚🐴
