On International Women's Day Saturday 8th March 2025, I found myself in Manningtree, just up the road from home, and sitting on a bench taking in the atmosphere, spotted this plaque, which suddenly felt quite poignant.
It made me think of those poor women who were unnecessarily discriminated against and needlessly lost their lives through the stupidity of others. And of all the women who had before them and have done since, in endless multitudes of scenarios and of those who still continue to have lack of opportunity and fairness in society.
It also made me feel lucky. Whilst our national and international society is far from perfect from many viewpoints, I am happy that I am able to do what I do and have freedom of choice in this world. And I am lucky that I don't live in fear or feel that I have to hide who I am.
Somebody told me there was a debate as to whether International Women's Day should remain a thing. Well, I for one, am happy and proud to celebrate women and the unique wonder that we are, and our continued growth in strength and existence, both individually and collectively!!
Happy International Women's week everybody!

I'm so lucky I can literally work from anywhere as long as I have my laptop and a wifi connection!
Late September/early October took me and my laptop (and partner and pups!) on a 3-week adventure in a motorhome around the South West of the UK... 🚐 🧭 🏞️ 🐶 ...
We set up 'home' in 6 locations across 4 counties over 23 days:
📍 Cheddar, North Somerset
📍 South Molton, North Devon
📍 St Ives, West Cornwall
📍 Looe, South Cornwall
📍 Paignton, South Devon
📍 Ringwood, Dorset
A happy number of bright days allowed plenty of exploring in the surrounding areas; my favourite places being Cheddar Gorge, Exmoor National Park, Lynton & Lynmouth, Valley of Rocks, St Ives, Kynance Cove, Minack Theatre and Dartmouth!
Some early starts and time-blocking enabled me to fulfil the work for my clients without any gaps in service; whilst checking the forecast a few days ahead (and a bit of finger-crossing) allowed forward planning for afternoons out. And for those rainy days? Getting ahead on work tasks whilst looking forward to some lovely long walks when the clouds cleared! 🌥️
The best part is that my clients reported no disruption in the service whatsoever! I was confident this would be the case, but was great to get that feedback!
Bring on the next trip! 😃 🐾 😊
I'd love to hear about other people's 'working' adventures! Where has your work taken you to and how long for?
