π· Alcohol Awareness Week 2026 π·
π
6th β 12th July
This week is all about encouraging open conversations about alcohol and understanding how it can affect both our physical and mental wellbeing. π
Many people enjoy alcohol as part of their social life, but it's important to be aware of how much we're drinking and the impact it can have on our health. π©Ί
β¨ Small changes can make a big difference:
β
Know your units
β
Have alcohol-free days each week
β
Stay hydrated
β
Talk openly about alcohol and wellbeing
β
Seek support if you need it
π¬ If you're concerned about your own drinking, or that of someone you care about, support is available. Please speak to a member of our teamβwe're here to help, not judge.
π€ You don't have to make changes alone.

π Drowning Prevention Week 2026 π
This week marks **Drowning Prevention Week**, led by the Royal Life Saving Society UK, raising awareness of water safety and helping to prevent accidental drowning.
Whether you're visiting the beach, a river, lake, canal, or swimming pool, it's important to stay safe around water. Drowning can happen quickly and silently, and many incidents are preventable with the right knowledge.
π Remember:
β
Always supervise children closely around water.
β
Never swim alone.
β
Check local conditions before entering the water.
β
Avoid alcohol when participating in water activities.
β
If you see someone in difficulty, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard (at the coast) or Fire and Rescue Service (inland waters).
If you unexpectedly find yourself in deep water, remember to **Float to Live**:
π« Tilt your head back with your ears submerged.
π Relax and try to control your breathing.
π Move your hands and legs gently to stay afloat.
π’ Once calm, call for help or swim to safety.
Together, we can help keep our families and communities safe around water.
